Islands of the BVI

These are the most popular islands in the British Virgin Islands. All have wonderful beaches.

  • Tortola – main island with Roadtown the capital. There are now a few traffic lights on Tortola which is quite a change.
  • Virgin Gorda – nearly still the same island as when I first visited in 1980, except for more homes.
  • Jost Van Dyke – home of Foxy’s a world renowned watering stop with great entertainment by Foxy. Also the Soggy Dollar bar at White Bay.
  • Peter Island – home of the Peter Island Resort, Spa and Villas.
  • Norman Island – the caves, Pirate’s Bight Bar, and the notorious Willie T.
  • Cooper Island – wonderful stop
  • Anegada – the northen most island in the BVI, with the highest point at 20ft, great beaches and lobster.
  • Salt Island – snorkel and dive the wreck of the Rhone.
  • Marina Cay – enjoy a Pusser Pain killer here.
  • Many other islands.

You will need more than 1 week to sail and enjoy this wonderful area, which is ideal for first time sailors.
